Bishop Fabio Ciollaro

The Holy Father has appointed Msgr. Fabio Ciollaro as Bishop of Cerignola-Ascoli Satriano; until now, he has served as Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Brindisi-Ostuni and as Parish Priest of San Vito Martire. Msgr. Fabio Ciollaro was born on September 21, 1961, in San Vito dei Normanni (province of Brindisi), within the Archdiocese of Brindisi-Ostuni. He was ordained a priest for the same Archdiocese on June 14, 1986. He attended the Regional Seminary of Molfetta and obtained a Doctorate in Theology from the Teresianum in Rome. He has served as Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Brindisi-Ostuni since September 8, 2014. Since 1996, he has served as parish priest in Guagnano, San Vito dei Normanni, and Brindisi, and *ad nutum Episcopi* (at the Bishop's discretion) in San Pancrazio Salentino. He served as an educator at the Regional High School Seminary in Taranto and subsequently as Rector of the Archdiocesan Seminary of Ostuni. He has led various spiritual exercises and retreats for the clergy and in seminaries. For twelve years, he served as Director of the Schools Office and the Diocesan Administrative Office. Since 2003, he has been a member of the Episcopal Council, the College of Consultors, and the Presbyteral Council. He has worked as a religious education teacher and taught Spiritual Theology at the Higher Institute of Religious Sciences in Brindisi. He is the author of various publications.
