Bishop of Chiquinquirá
Bishop Ramón Alberto Rolón Güepsa was born in Arboledas, in the metropolitan archdiocese of Nueva Pamplona, on 28 February 1959. He carried out his studies in theology and philosophy at the Santo Tomás de Aquino Archdiocesan Major Seminary. He was awarded a licentiate in philosophy from the Pontifical Gregorian University of Rome, in theology from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana of Bogotá, and in philosophy and religious sciences from the University of Pamplona. He was ordained a priest on 8 December 1984, for the clergy of the metropolitan archdiocese of Nueva Pamplona. He has held the following offices: parish vicar of San Juan Bautista, parish administrator of Mitiscua, vice rector of the minor seminary and delegate for vocational pastoral care, spiritual director of the minor seminary and formator of the major seminary, rector of the major seminary, and parish priest of San Juan Bautista in Chinácota. On 27 October 2012 he was appointed as bishop of Montería, Colombia, and received episcopal ordination on the following 1 December.
