Bishop Sebastian Tudu

Bishop Sebastian Tudu, Bishop of Dinajpur, was born on June 17, 1967, in Changura, in the district of Gaibandha and the Diocese of Dinajpur. He completed his secondary studies at St. Philip's High School in Dinajpur while residing at the minor seminary of Dinajpur, and subsequently attended the Dinajpur Government School. He continued his formation at Notre Dame College in Dhaka, residing at St. Joseph's Minor Seminary in Dhaka, and obtained a bachelor of arts. He then studied at the Holy Spirit Major Seminary in Dhaka for his ecclesiastical formation. He was ordained a priest for Dinajpur on December 30, 1999. He subsequently served as parochial vicar of St. Francis parish in Dinajpur (2000-2003); a doctoral student in missiology at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome, residing at the Pontifical College of St. Paul (2003-2007); and parochial vicar of Fatima Rani church in Ruhea (2007-2009). From 2009 he served as vice-rector of the Holy Spirit Major Seminary in Dhaka. On October 29, 2011, he was appointed Bishop of Dinajpur. He received episcopal ordination on January 27, 2012, with Joseph Salvador Marino as principal consecrator and Moses Montu Costa and Patrick D'Rozario as co-consecrators.
