Bishop Peter Paul Yelezuome Angkyier

Peter Paul Yelezuome Angkyier is Bishop of Damongo, Ghana. Peter Paul Angkyier was born on 26 November 1961 in Nandon, in the Wa district of the Upper West Region, Diocese of Wa. He attended Saint Charles Minor Seminary in Tamale (1977-1984) and then completed philosophy and theology studies at Saint Victor Major Seminary in Tamale. He was ordained a priest on 15 August 1992 and incardinated in the Archdiocese of Tamale before transferring to the Diocese of Damongo at the time of its creation in 1995. After priestly ordination he held the following positions: 1992-1993, parochial vicar in the Martyrs of Uganda parish at Bole; 1993-1994, parish priest of Saint Anne parish; 1994-1996, chaplain of African students in the Archdiocese of Vienna, Austria; 1996-2000, studies for the licentiate in Religious Psychology at the Gregorian University in Rome; 2000-2003, teacher and spiritual director at Saint Augustine Major Seminary in Tamale; 2002-2009, vicar general of Damongo and professor at Saint Augustine Major Seminary.
