Bishop Anthony Fallah Borwah

Anthony Fallah Borwah is Bishop of Gbarnga, Liberia. Anthony Fallah Borwah was born on 3 October 1966 in Wodu, Liberia, in the present Diocese of Gbarnga. After secondary school, he entered Saint Kizito Seminary in Kenema in 1987 for the propaedeutic course, and then completed philosophy studies first at Saint Paul College Seminary in Gbarnga, Liberia, and then at Makeni, Sierra Leone, where he obtained the baccalaureate in 1994. He completed theology studies at Saint Peter's Regional Seminary, Cape Coast, Ghana, from 1995 to 1996. He was ordained a priest on 15 September 1996 in the Cathedral of Monrovia and was incardinated in the same archdiocese. After ordination he held the following offices: 1996-1997, parochial vicar of Sacred Heart Cathedral, Monrovia; 1997-1998, parochial vicar of Saint Peter Claver Parish, Buchanan; 1998-2001, studies for the licentiate in social communications at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome; 2001-2005, parish priest of Christ the King Parish, Monrovia; 2005-2009, parish priest of Saint Anthony Parish, Gardnersville, Monrovia; from 2001, director of the Archdiocesan Catholic Media Center, Monrovia; from 2002, spokesperson of the Episcopal Conference of Liberia, CABICOL; from 2004, teacher of philosophy at the University of Liberia; and from 2009, administrator of Sacred Heart Cathedral, Monrovia.
