Rosario Pio Ramolo. On 9 December 1998, the Holy Father erected the diocese of Goré, Chad, with territory taken from the dioceses of Moundou and Doba, making it suffragan of the metropolitan Church of N'Djamena. He appointed as its first bishop Fr. Rosario Pio Ramolo, O.F.M.Cap., currently a missionary in Chad. The bishop-elect was born in Limosano, Italy, in 1952, took his solemn vows in 1976 and was ordained a priest in 1978.
