Archbishop Carlo Roberto Maria Redaelli

Carlo Roberto Maria Redaelli was born in Milan on June 23, 1956. He attended the Pontifical Lombard Seminary in Rome and was ordained a priest on June 14, 1980. He obtained a degree in Canon Law from the Pontifical Gregorian University in 1988. From 1983 to 1993, he served in the Legal Office of the Archdiocese of Milan; during the same period, he was appointed a member of the Committee for Ecclesiastical Entities and Assets of the Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI). An author of numerous articles in various journals, he served on the management and editorial boards of the journal *Quaderni di diritto ecclesiale* and was the editor of the journal *Ex Lege*. In 1987, he was appointed Promoter of Justice at the Lombard Regional Ecclesiastical Tribunal, and in 1991, a member of the body responsible for resolving disputes. From 1993 to 2004, he served as Advocate General, and since 1994, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the *Opera Diocesana* since 1995 and head of the Lombard Regional Legal Observatory since 1998. In 2000, he was elected to the Presbyteral Council, and in 2004, he became Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Milan. On April 8, 2004, he was appointed Titular Bishop of Lambesi and Auxiliary Bishop of Milan. He received episcopal consecration on June 5 of that same year.
