Bishop of Gualeguaychú
Bishop Héctor Luis Zordán, M.SS.CC., Bishop of Gualeguaychú, was born on November 30, 1956, in Calchaquí, in the Diocese of Reconquista. Having entered the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, he studied at the San Carlos Borromeo Seminary of Rosario and was ordained a priest on November 17, 1984. He served as head of the P. G. Guerrico school at Capitán Bermúdez; parish priest of San Roque (1984-1987) and of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores in Buenos Aires (1993-1998); dean of the Chacarita deanery of the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires; rector of the religious community of the Missionaries of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary at Capitán Bermúdez; master of novices, formator and vocations promoter; vice-president of Caritas of the Archdiocese of Rosario; and postulator of the cause of beatification of Father Pascual Pirozzi. From September 2016 he was parish priest of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores in Buenos Aires. On March 28, 2017, he was appointed Bishop of Gualeguaychú. He received episcopal ordination on May 28, 2017, at Gualeguaychú, with Jorge Eduardo Lozano as principal consecrator and Sergio Alfredo Fenoy and Emil Paul Tscherrig as co-consecrators.
