Bishop of Hoima
Vincent Kirabo was born on October 1, 1955, in Kyanaisoke, in the Kabaale District, within the Diocese of Hoima. He attended primary and secondary school from 1962 to 1972; from 1973 to 1979, he completed his priestly formation at the national major seminaries: Uganda Martyrs’ National Major Seminary Alokolum in Gulu (philosophy studies) and St. Mary’s National Major Seminary Ggaba in Kampala (theology studies). He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Hoima on September 9, 1979. Following his ordination, he held the following positions and pursued further studies: 1979–1988: Teacher at St. John Bosco Minor Seminary, Hoima; 1985–1988: Director of the Diocesan Vocations Commission; 1988–1990: Master’s degree in Education at the University of Portland, USA; 1990–1991: Parochial Vicar in Muhorro; 1991–1992: Rector of St. John Bosco Minor Seminary, Hoima; 1992–1997: Diocesan Financial Administrator, Hoima; 1998–2003: Parish Priest of Buseesa; 2003–2007: Licentiate in Biblical Theology at the Pontifical Urban University, residing at the Pontifical Saint Paul College; 2007–2008: Parish Priest of Katulikire; 2008–2012: Lecturer and Bursar at Uganda Martyrs’ National Major Seminary Alokolum, Gulu; since 2012: Lecturer at St. Mary’s National Major Seminary Ggaba, Kampala.
