Bishop Vicente Ribas Prats

Vicente Ribas Prats was born on May 12, 1968, in Ibiza. He was ordained a priest on October 12, 1996. He has carried out his priestly ministry in the Diocese of Ibiza, holding the following positions: parochial vicar of Santa Cruz in Ibiza (1996 and 2000); parish priest of Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera, San Miguel de Balanzat, and San Mateo de Aubarca (2000–2006); chaplain and teacher at the Sa Real School and delegate for Vocational Pastoral Care (2001); parish priest of San Miguel, member of the College of Consultors, and archpriest of Santa Eulalia (2006); and parish priest of Santa Eulalia del Río and, concurrently, of San Mateo (2008). In 2009, he was appointed a canon of the cathedral, and in 2010, Vicar General of the diocese. On February 4, 2020, he was elected Diocesan Administrator of Ibiza following the transfer of Msgr. Vicente Juan Segura to the Diocese of Valencia—a role he held alongside his duties as parish priest of Santa Eulalia del Río and San Mateo de Aubarca. On October 13, 2021, Vicente Ribas Prats was appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Ibiza, and he took possession of the diocese on December 4.
