Hermann Glettler was born on January 8, 1965, in Übelbach (Styria). After completing his secondary education at the minor seminary of the Diocese of Graz, he entered the major seminary and pursued his studies at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Graz, earning a Master's degree. At the same time, he also obtained a Master's degree in Art History from the same university. He was ordained a priest on June 23, 1991, and incardinated into the clergy of Graz-Seckau. Subsequently, he served as a chaplain and as a curate for youth ministry before being appointed parish priest of Graz-St. Andrä and Karlau in 1999. Since 2015, he has served as Episcopal Vicar for Caritas and Evangelization.
