Bishop of Inongo
Bishop Donatien Bafuidinsoni Maloko-Mana, S.J., Bishop of Inongo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, was born on 11 December 1962 in Mai Ndombe, Bandundu. He entered the novitiate of the Society of Jesus at Cyangugu, Rwanda, on 29 September 1981 and made first vows on 11 September 1983. He studied philosophy in the Saint Peter Canisius Kimwenza Faculty in Kinshasa from 1983 to 1986, then obtained the licentiate at the University of Lubumbashi from 1986 to 1988, and studied theology at the Jesuit Hekima Institute in Nairobi, Kenya, from 1989 to 1992. He was ordained a priest on 18 July 1993. After priestly ordination he held the following offices: studies for the doctorate in Canon Law at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome from 1993 to 1999; delegate of the provincial father for the formation of Jesuits in Africa from 1999 to 2001; provincial for Central Africa from 2001 to 2008; judicial vicar of the archdiocese of Kinshasa and consultor of the Jesuit community from 2009 to 2012; and from 2012 judicial vicar of the archdiocese of Kinshasa. He resides at Saint Ignace House, where he serves as superior.
