Bishop of Iquique
Isauro Ulises Covili Linfati, O.F.M., was born on March 22, 1961, in Lumaco, in the Diocese of Temuco. He specialized in Youth Ministry at the *Instituto Superior de Pastoral de Juventud* (ISPAJ) in Chile. He began his novitiate on July 16, 1981, made his solemn profession on March 20, 1987, and was ordained a priest on November 23, 1990. He served as the Chilean O.F.M. Province’s representative for the General Office of Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC); Guardian of the Saint Maximilian Maria Kolbe community in Santiago; local Vicar at the missionary house serving Mapuche communities in Carahue; Guardian and Master of Professed Friars at the Saint Philip of Jesus Fraternity; Director of the journal *Cuadernos Franciscanos* (published by the Center for Franciscan Spirituality for Latin America); Pre-Chapter Secretary for the Provincial Chapter; Provincial Definitor and Moderator for Ongoing Formation; Novice Master at the Rapel de Navidad fraternity; General Visitor for the Provinces of Saint Peter and Saint Paul in Mexico; Provincial Secretary for Formation; Vicar and Master of Postulants at the Valparaíso fraternity; General Visitor for the Saint Francis Solano Province in Peru; Secretary for Formation for the Southern Cone Conference; Guardian and Parish Priest at the La Serena fraternity; Provincial Vicar and Provincial Minister for Chile; and, from July 14, 2021, to the present, Vicar General of the Order of Friars Minor (O.F.M.).
