Apostolic Administrator of Italy
Hryhoriy Komar was born on June 19, 1976, in Letnya, in the Drohobych district of the Lviv region (Ukraine). He received his priestly formation at the Major Seminary of Lviv and was ordained a priest for the Eparchy of Sambir-Drohobych on April 22, 2001. For several months, he served at the Major Seminary of Drohobych and the Holy Trinity Parish in the same city. He subsequently pursued further studies at the Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome, where he obtained a Licentiate in Eastern Theology in 2003. Since then, he has held the positions of Vice-Rector and Bursar at the Major Seminary of Drohobych, where he also teaches. At the same time, he assists in parishes in Stebnyk and Drohobych. He has served as Eparchial Protosyncellus since March 2012. In addition to Ukrainian, he speaks Russian, Polish, English, and Italian.
