Msgr. Joseph Kallarackal was born on 10 December 1964 in Anavilsam, Kerala. He studied philosophy and theology at Saint Joseph’s Regional Seminary in Allahabad and obtained a Master of Arts in political sciences from Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University in Ajmer. He was ordained a priest on 2 May 1997 for the clergy of Ajmer. After ordination, he first served as vice-rector (1997-2000) and rector (2007-2013 and 2016-2021) of the Saint Theresa’s Minor Seminary, Ajmer, and parish priest and director of Saint Anselm’s School, Nagaur (2000-2003). He studied for a Bachelor of Education at Goa Vidyaprasarak Mandal’s College (2003-2004). He went on to serve as parish priest of Saint Theresa’s Church, Jodhpur (2004-2007), parish priest and director of Saint Paul’s School, Falna (2013-2015), parish priest and director of Saint Paul’s School, Pali (2015-2016), and, since 2021, parish priest of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Ajmer.
