Bishop of Jashpur
Emmanuel Kerketta was born on March 16, 1952, in the village of Gotmahua, in the Diocese of Jashpur. After completing his primary and secondary education in Musgutry, he attended Loyola High School in Kunkuri and subsequently entered the Minor Seminary in Ranchi. He completed a year of "Spirituality and Probation" at St. Albert’s College, also in Ranchi. He later attended St. Joseph’s Seminary in Mangalore for two years and St. Xavier’s College in Ranchi for over three years, before returning to St. Joseph’s Seminary to complete his theological studies. He was ordained a priest on May 5, 1984, and incardinated into the Diocese of Jashpur. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: 1984–1986: Parochial Vicar of Portenga and Director of the Catholic Ashram schools in the same area; 1986–1988: Mathematics studies at Guru Ghasidas University in Bilaspur; 1988–1989: Studies in Educational Sciences at Rani Durgavati University in Jabalpur; 1989–1992: Head of the "Apostolic School" in Gholeng; 1992–2006: Teacher and subsequently Head of Deepak Janta High School in Harradippa; 2006–2008: Vicar General of Jashpur; since 2008: Diocesan Administrator.
