Bishop of Katiola
Honoré Beugré Dakpa was born on July 30, 1969, in Grand-Lahou, in the Diocese of Gagnoa. After attending the minor seminary, he completed his studies in philosophy and theology at the Saint Cœur de Marie Major Seminary in Anyama. He was ordained a priest on December 20, 1998, for the Archdiocese of Gagnoa. He held the following positions and pursued further studies: Parochial Vicar in Gbagbam (1998–1999); Parochial Vicar at Saint Jean Baptiste in Lakota and formator at the Gagnoa Catechetical Center (1999–2000); Parochial Vicar at Saint Jacques, Cocody II Plateaux, Abidjan (2000–2001); Vicar of the Saint Albert le Grand University Parish in Cocody, Assistant Student Chaplain, and Spiritual Director of the Saint Paul VI University Seminary, Abidjan (2001–2004); student at the Université Catholique de l'Afrique de l'Ouest (UCAO/UUA) and Prefect of Discipline at the Saint Paul VI University Seminary (2004–2007); Doctorate in Canon Law from the Pontifical Lateran University, Rome (2008–2010); Professor of Canon Law at UCAO/UUA and member of the Commission for Legal Affairs and Tribunals of the Ivorian Episcopal Conference (2010); Judge at the National Ecclesiastical Tribunal of Second Instance (2011–2016); Director of the Institute of Canon Law at UCAO/UUA (2013–2019); Judge of First Instance at the Diocesan Tribunal of San Pedro since 2016; and Secretary General of UCAO/UUA since 2020.
