Diocese of Kindu

François Abeli Muhoya Mutchapa was born on February 9, 1974, in Kindu. After completing his primary and secondary education, he entered the *Petit Séminaire Notre-Dame des Apôtres* in Kindu (1987–1991) and subsequently attended the propaedeutic year in the Diocese of Kasongo (1991–1992). From 1992 to 1995, he pursued philosophy studies at the *Grand Séminaire Mgr. Cleire* in Kasongo, and from 1999 to 2000, he studied theology at the *Grand Séminaire de Murhesa Saint Pie X* in Bukavu. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Kindu on January 6, 2002. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: Parochial Vicar at Saint-Esprit Parish in Kindu (2002–2003); Director of the Diocesan Caritas of Kindu and formator at the *Petit Séminaire Notre-Dame des Apôtres* in Kindu (2002–2008); Sunday assistant priest at Saint-Esprit Parish (2003–2006) and at *Bienheureuse Anuarite* Parish in Kindu (2006–2012); Coordinator of Caritas-Développement-Kindu (2008–2009); member of the Diocesan Commission for Economic Affairs (2009–2012); and assistant to the Second Deputy Secretary of Caritas-Développement Congo (2012–2013). Subsequently, he studied at the Pontifical Gregorian University, obtaining a Licentiate and a Doctorate in the History and Cultural Heritage of the Church (2013–2020), while simultaneously carrying out pastoral service in the Diocese of Tivoli as an assistant at the parishes of Santa Maria and San Mauro (2016–2020).
