Bishop of Kongolo
Rev. Fr. Oscar Ngoy wa Mpanga, C.S.Sp., was born on December 5, 1964, in Kyolo, in the Diocese of Manono. After attending primary school in Manono, he completed his philosophy studies at the "Jean XXIII" Institute in Kolwezi (1985–1987). He subsequently undertook his novitiate (1987–1988) with the Congregation of the Holy Spirit, making his first profession in 1988. He then pursued theological studies (1988–1992) at the "Poullart des Places" Institute in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo. On July 26, 1992, he was ordained a priest for the Congregation of the Holy Spirit. He later held various positions: animator of the catechetical center in Katako, Diocese of Kindu (1992–1995); rector of his Congregation's "Jacques-Désiré Laval" philosophy house in Kinshasa (1992–1998); and missiology studies in Canada (1998–2000). Since 2000, he has served as Provincial Superior of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit; since 2002, as parish priest of "Sainte Elisabeth" parish in Lubumbashi; and since 2005, as President of the Assembly of Major Superiors (ASUMA) of Katanga.
