Bishop Kindane Yebio

Abba Kindane Yebio was born on January 25, 1958, in Shinnara, near Keren, Eritrea; he studied at the Minor Seminary in Keren and the Major Seminary in Asmara. He was ordained a priest on June 30, 1985. He studied at the Pontifical Ethiopian College in Rome, obtaining a Licentiate in Biblical Theology from the Angelicum and a Licentiate in Eastern Canon Law from the Pontifical Oriental Institute. He served as parish priest in Hadish Adi and at the Keren Cathedral, and taught Canon Law and Sacred Scripture at the inter-eparchial seminary in Keren. From 1992 to 1996, he held the office of Vicar of the Western Vicariate of the Eparchy of Asmara, and from 1996 to 2002, he served as Protosyncellus of the newly established Eparchy of Keren. Following the death of the Bishop, H.E. Msgr. Tesfemariam Bedho, on July 29, 2002, he was elected Administrator of the same Eparchy.
