Bishop of Lindi
Wolfgang Pisa, O.F.M. Cap., was born on July 6, 1965, in Karatu (Diocese of Mbulu). He entered the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor Capuchin in 1990. After his novitiate (1991–1992), he studied philosophy at the Order’s formation center in Lusaka, Zambia (1992–1994), and theology at the Jordan University College (run by the Salvatorian Fathers) in Morogoro, Tanzania (1995–1999). He made his perpetual vows on August 15, 1998, and was ordained a priest on September 1, 1999. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: teacher and formator at the Maua Minor Seminary of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin in Moshi (1999–2000; 2003–2005); Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies and Geography from the University of Dar es Salaam; Rector of the Maua Minor Seminary in Moshi (2005–2008); student of Moral Theology at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., USA (2009–2011); Provincial Minister of the Friars Minor Capuchin in Tanzania (2011–2017); Licentiate in Moral Theology from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., USA (2017–2019); and pastoral service at Kibaigwa Parish, Metropolitan Archdiocese of Dodoma (2019–2020). Since 2020, he has served as Parochial Vicar of Kwangulelo Parish and as a lecturer at St. Augustine University in Arusha.
