Bishop of Lucera-Troia
Msgr. Giuseppe Giuliano as bishop of Lucera-Troia (area 1,336, population 67,400, Catholics 66,200, priests 78, permanent deacons 7, religious 52), Italy. The bishop-elect was born in 1951 in Naples, Italy and was ordained a priest in 1982. He holds a licentiate in moral theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University and has served in various pastoral and administrative roles, including special secretary to Bishop Giuseppe Costanzo, diocesan assistant in the Youth Sector of Catholic Action, diocesan head of youth pastoral ministry, canon of the Cathedral Chapter, director of the “G. Duns Scoto” Higher Institute of Religious Sciences (ISSR), rector of the Episcopal Seminary and director of the Diocesan Vocations Centre, national assistant of Youth Catholic Action and director of the diocesan catechistic office. He was named Chaplain of His Holiness in 2000. He is currently pastor of the San Giorgio in Somma Vesuviana, diocesan spiritual assistant for Catholic Doctors, and lecturer in fundamental moral theology at the ISSR in Nola.
