Bishop Cerilo "Allan" Uy Casicas

Bishop Cerilo "Allan" Uy Casicas, Bishop of Marbel, was born on March 18, 1967, in Duero, Bohol, in the Diocese of Marbel. After high school he attended courses in philosophy at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Seminary in Koronadal, South Cotabato, and in theology at Saint Francis Xavier Regional Seminary in Davao. He subsequently obtained a licentiate in dogmatic theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome in 2003, and in 2004 attended German language courses at the Language Institute Kreuzberg in Bonn. He was ordained a priest for Marbel on October 27, 1994. He then served as episcopal chancellor (1994-1995); dean of studies at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Seminary in Koronadal (1995-2000); chaplain of the Filipino community in Rome during his years of study (2001-2004); instructor in philosophy at Notre Dame University of Marbel in Koronadal (2005-2006); and parochial vicar and then parish priest of Jesus Good Shepherd parish in Polomolok (2006-2009). After a sabbatical year at the Trappist abbey of Our Lady of the Philippines in Guimaras and some years as parochial vicar of three different parishes in General Santos City, he served from 2013 as director and professor at St. John Vianney Seminary in Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City. On April 28, 2018, he was appointed Bishop of Marbel. He received episcopal ordination on July 11, 2018, at Koronadal, with Orlando Beltran Quevedo as principal consecrator and Romulo Geolina Valles and Dinualdo Destajo Gutierrez as co-consecrators.
