Bishop of Marília
Luiz Antônio Cipolini was born in Caconde, in the State of São Paulo (Diocese of São João da Boa Vista), on July 8, 1962. He pursued his studies in Philosophy (1980–1982) and Theology (1982–1986) at the *Centro de Estudos Arquidiocesano de Ribeirão Preto* in the archdiocese of the same name. He subsequently obtained a Licentiate in Moral Theology from the Alfonsianum in Rome (1992–1994). He was ordained a priest on August 15, 1986, and incardinated into the clergy of São João da Boa Vista, where he held the following positions: in Mogi Guaçu, he served as Parochial Vicar of the "Nossa Senhora do Rosário" parish (1986–1987) and Parish Priest of the "Nossa Senhora Aparecida" parish (1988–1992); Parish Priest of the "Santana" parish in Vargem Grande do Sul (1994–2002); Rector of the diocesan Theology Seminary (2002–2005); and Professor of Ethics at the *Centro Universitário de Administração* in São João da Boa Vista. Since 2006, he has served as a professor and Rector of the diocesan Institute of Philosophy and as Parish Priest of the "Nossa Senhora de Fátima" parish in São João da Boa Vista.
