Bishop Félix María Ramírez Barajas

Monsignor Félix Ramírez Barajas was born on December 7, 1962, in Carcasí, in the Diocese of Málaga-Soatá. He studied Philosophy and Theology at the Major Seminary of Bucaramanga. He obtained a Licentiate in Dogmatic Theology from the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome and a Licentiate in Philosophy and Religious Sciences from Santo Tomás University in Bucaramanga. He was ordained a priest on November 26, 1988. He has served as pastor of Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Chiquinquirá in El Cerrito; pastor in Omate, Diocese of Tacna and Moquegua (Peru); pastor of San Pedro Apóstol in Mologavita; parochial vicar of Regina Pacis in Anguillara, Diocese of Civita Castellana (Italy); pastor of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios in San José de Miranda; formator at the Major Seminary of Bucaramanga; rector of the Major Seminary of Soatá; pastor of San Bartolomé Apóstol in Capitanejo; Diocesan Administrator of Málaga-Soatá (2010–2011); Episcopal Vicar for Pastoral Affairs; and pastor of the Co-Cathedral of Soatá. Since 2014, he has served as pastor of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and from 2019 to 2022, as Vicar General of the Diocese of Málaga-Soatá. On July 16, 2022, Pope Francis appointed him bishop of the Diocese of Málaga-Soatá, and the ceremony of his episcopal consecration and installation in the assigned see took place on October 1 of that same year at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Málaga (Santander).
