Abbot of Montecassino
The Holy Father has appointed Dom Antonio Luca Fallica, O.S.B., previously Prior of the Monastery of the Most Holy Trinity in Dumenza, as Territorial Abbot of Montecassino. Dom Fallica was born on July 27, 1959, in Ripatransone, in the Diocese of San Benedetto del Tronto-Ripatransone-Montalto (province of Ascoli Piceno). After studying law, he entered the Monastery of Praglia in 1985, where he began his theological training, later completing it at the Milan campus of the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy. In 1989, together with other brothers, he founded the monastic community of the Most Holy Trinity, currently based in Dumenza in the Archdiocese of Milan. He made his Solemn Monastic Profession in this community on January 5, 1996. After serving as cellarer, he was elected Prior of the community on October 29, 2010, a role he held until December 2, 2022.
