Bishop of Mahajanga
Zygmunt Robaszkiewicz was born on October 16, 1958, in Nietuszkowo, in the Archdiocese of Poznań, Poland. In 1978, he entered the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Holy Family. He studied philosophy and theology at the religious institute's major seminary in Poland (1980–1986). He made his perpetual profession in 1985 and was ordained a priest on June 11, 1986. In 1987, he went to France for language training in preparation for his mission in Madagascar. In 1990, he was transferred from the M.S.F. Franco-Belgian Province to the Malagasy Province. Upon arriving in Madagascar and studying the local language in Ambositra, he was appointed vicar and subsequently parish priest of Manja, in the Diocese of Morombe. He currently serves as Vicar General and parish priest of the Cathedral of Morombe.
