Bishop Carlo Ciattini

Carlo Ciattini was born in Cerreto Guidi (in the province of Florence and the Diocese of San Miniato) on March 20, 1951. After graduating from a commercial institute, he attended the Faculty of Law at the State University. He also gained professional experience in the fields of entrepreneurship and commerce. Upon completing his formation at the Almo Collegio Capranica in Rome, he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of San Miniato on May 14, 1989. He attended the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome, obtaining a Doctorate in Canon Law in 2004. Throughout his ministry, he has held the following roles: from 1989 to 1995, he attended the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome; since 1995, he has served as Parish Priest of San Pietro alle Fonti in La Scala and Parish Administrator of San Lorenzo a Nocicchio in San Miniato; from 1996 to 1999, he was Secretary General of the 13th Diocesan Synod; since 1999, he has served as Judicial Vicar of San Miniato and as a judge at the Etruscan Regional Ecclesiastical Tribunal; since 2000, he has been the Episcopal Vicar for Lay Associations; since 2005, he has served as Rector of the San Miniato Diocesan Seminary and Delegate for the formation of permanent deacons; and since 2006, he has directed the Diocesan Vocations Center. He is the author of various articles published in magazines, local newspapers, and *L'Osservatore Romano*. Additionally, he published his doctoral thesis, titled "Il presbitero e la dottrina sociale della Chiesa" (The Priest and the Social Doctrine of the Church) in 2006.
