Archdiocese of Monrovia

Gabriel Blamo Jubwe was born on September 7, 1958, in Lagos, Nigeria. After completing his formation at St. Paul’s Major Seminary in Gbarnga, Liberia, he was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Monrovia on December 18, 1983. He has held the following positions and pursued further studies: pastoral assignments within the Archdiocese (1983–1986); Doctorate in Liturgy from the Pontifical Atheneum of St. Anselm in Rome (1986–1991); Administrator of Monrovia Cathedral, Director of the Diocesan Pastoral Center, and member of the Justice and Peace Commission of both the Liberian Council of Churches and the Inter-Religious Council of Liberia (1992–1996); Rector of Queen of Apostles Minor Seminary and St. Charles Lwanga Propaedeutic Seminary in Monrovia (1996–1999); Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Monrovia (1996–2000); Secretary General of the Liberian Episcopal Conference (1998–2001); Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (1999–2004); Rector of St. Paul’s Major Seminary in Gbarnga (2001–2007); and member of the College of Consultors of the Archdiocese of Monrovia (2006–2021). He is the author of various writings and radio programs and serves on several boards. Currently the parish priest of St. Pius X, he has served as the Diocesan Administrator of Monrovia since 2021.
