Bishop of Moundou
Joachim Kouraleyo Tarounga was born in Donia, in the Diocese of Goré, in 1958. He pursued his studies in his home country, in Cameroon, in Côte d’Ivoire (at the ICAO), and in France at the Catholic Institute of Paris, where he obtained a Licentiate in Theology. He was ordained a priest on November 18, 1989, and incardinated into the Diocese of Doba. He has served as a parochial vicar, parish priest, and both professor and rector at the Major Seminary of N’Djamena. He also served as head of pastoral care for the Diocese of Doba, Secretary General of the "Rencontre Sacerdotale et Religieuse des Africains au Tchad," and chaplain at the University Center of N’Djamena.
