Bishop of Marabá
Vital Corbellini was born on December 1, 1959, in Garibaldi, in the Diocese of Caxias do Sul, in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. He studied philosophy at the University of Caxias do Sul and theology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul. He was ordained a priest on December 28, 1986. During his priestly ministry, he held the following positions: Parochial Vicar of the parishes of São Sebastião in Jaquirana, Santa Maria do Belo Horizonte in Cazuza Ferreira, and São Francisco de Paula in São Francisco de Paula, in the Diocese of Caxias do Sul (1987–1988); Pastoral Coordinator for the São Francisco de Paula region (1987–1988); Parish Priest of Nossa Senhora Medianeira Parish in Cuiabá, in the Archdiocese of the same name (1988–1993); Parish Administrator and subsequently Parish Priest of São Francisco de Assis Parish in Monte Belo do Sul, Diocese of Caxias do Sul (1997–2001); member of the priestly team (2003–2007); and Vicar General of the Diocese of Caxias do Sul (2007–2010). He currently serves as Parish Priest of São João Batista Parish in the town of Jaru, in the Diocese of Ji-Paraná, State of Rondônia, in Eastern Amazonia.
