Marie Fabien Raharilamboniaina, O.C.D., was born on January 20, 1968, in Ambohijanahary, in the Diocese of Ambatondrazaka. He joined the Discalced Carmelites at a young age. After completing his primary and secondary education, he pursued studies in philosophy and theology at the Catholic Institute of Madagascar (I.C.M.) in Ambatoroka. He made his religious profession on September 8, 1990, and was ordained a priest on July 5, 1997. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: 1997–1999: Parochial Vicar at St. Paul’s Parish in Phoenix (Mauritius); 1999–2005: transferred to Réunion to establish the presence of the Carmelite Fathers on the island; from 2005: Provincial Superior of the Carmelite Fathers of Madagascar and the Indian Ocean.
