Bishop of Mukachevo
Mykola Luchok was born on the 26-th of March, 1974 in Transcarpathia, Mukachevo. In 1994 he joined the Dominican Order. Most of his philosophical and theological studies he completed at the Major Theological Seminary in Krakow, Poland, but he spent two years in Kosice and in Warsaw as well. On June 24, 2003, he was ordained as priest by bishop Antal Majnek at the cathedral in Mukachevo. Between 2003-2010 he served in Saint Petersburg at the Parish of St. Catherine of Alexandria, where besides doing pastoral activity at the parish he aslo served as a youth pastor. Between 2005-2008 he completed a course called “Helping Children in Alcoholic Families”, and conducted studies on psychological help for people who are addicted to alcohol and drugs („Caritas of Saint Petersburg”). Between 2010-2016 he dealt with students and young people at the pastoral center of the Dominicans in Lviv. Between 2011-2013 he completed studies organized for seminary educators at the Salvatorian Formation Center in Krakow. Between 2013-2015 he completed studies and received a basic counseling qualification in the field of Positive Psychotherapy. Between 2017-2019 he completed a course called “School for Individual and Group Counseling and Family Counseling”. Between 2016-2018 he served in Khmelnytskyi at the Parish of Christ the King. Since 2018 he was the superior of the community in Lviv, administrator of the Dominican Pastoral Center, the spiritual leader of the dean district of Lviv. Two of his books have been published, he held numerous sermons at the Ukrainian-language broadcasts of Radio Maria, which can be found in the radio archives. On November 11, 2019, he was appointed by Pope Francis as the first Auxiliary Bishop of Mukachevo. On December 10, 2019, he was consecrated in the Cathedral of St. Martin of Tours in Mukachevo.
