Bishop Joseph Chusak Sirisut

Joseph Chusak Sirisut was born in Bang Nok Kwek, in the Diocese of Ratchaburi, on February 24, 1956. He studied philosophy and theology at the Major Seminary in Sampran. He obtained a B.A. in School Administration from Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University; he subsequently earned a Master’s degree in Theology in the United States and, more recently, a Licentiate in Theology from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. He was ordained a priest on May 11, 1984. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: 1984–1985: Principal of Daruna School; 1986: Administrator and Director of the Ratchaburi Institute; 1987–1994: Parish Priest and Principal of the parish school, first in Kanchanaburi and later in Ratchaburi; 1995–1996: Assistant Parish Priest at St. Jerome’s in Samut Songkhram; 1997–2000: Diocesan Bursar and Chancellor; 2000–2004: Licentiate in Theology at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila; since 2004, he has served as a professor at the Major Seminary in Sampran and as Director of the Center for Cultural and Religious Research in Sampran. Additionally, he served for five years as Secretary of the Episcopal Commission for Inter-religious Dialogue.
