Bishop of Nha Trang
Joseph Huynh Van Sy was born on January 10, 1962, in Go Thi, Binh Dinh, in the Diocese of Quy Nhon. He studied Philosophy and Theology at the Stella Maris (Sao Bien) Major Seminary in Nha Trang and was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Quy Nhon on May 12, 1999. He has held the following positions and pursued further studies: service at the Bishop's House in Quy Nhon (1999–2001); Doctorate in Canon Law from the Pontifical Urban University, Rome (2001–2006); Secretary to the Bishop of Quy Nhon (2006–2009); and, since 2009, Judicial Vicar and Rector of the St. Joseph Seminary of the Diocese of Quy Nhon, member of the Presbyteral Council, the Consultative Council, and the Committee for the Ongoing Formation of Priests, as well as a lecturer at the Major Seminary of Nha Trang.
