Bishop of Niigata
Bishop Paul Daisuke Narui, S.V.D., Bishop of Niigata, was born on November 24, 1973, in Iwakura, Japan, in the Diocese of Nagoya. He made his perpetual profession on March 9, 2000. He was ordained a priest for the same institute on March 10, 2001, in Nanzan. On May 31, 2020, he was appointed Bishop of Niigata. He received episcopal ordination on September 22, 2020, at Niigata, with Tarcisio Isao Kikuchi S.V.D. as principal consecrator and Rafael Masahiro Umemura and Bernard Taiji Katsuya as co-consecrators. He is a member of Society of the Divine Word.
