Archbishop of Palermo
Corrado Lorefice was born in Ispica (Ragusa) on October 12, 1962. After completing his initial studies at the seminary, he obtained a Licentiate in Moral Theology in 1988. He was ordained a deacon on September 26, 1986, and a priest on December 30, 1987, incardinated into the Diocese of Noto. In December 2009, he earned a Doctorate in Theology. He has held the following pastoral roles: 1988–1989: Bursar of the Episcopal Seminary; 1989–2008: Vice-Rector of the Seminary; 1988–2009: Lecturer in Moral Theology at the "G. Blandini" Higher Institute of Religious Sciences in Noto; 1990–1997: Director of the Diocesan Vocations Center; 1997–2007: Director of the Regional Vocations Center and Council Member of the National Vocations Center; 1994–2008: Lecturer in Moral Theology at the "Sant'Agostino" Higher Institute of Religious Sciences in Acireale; 2005–2012: Director of Permanent Deacon Formation; 2008–2010: Director of the Diocesan Catechetical Office; 2009–2010: Parish Administrator of "San Pietro Apostolo" in Modica; 2010–2014: Episcopal Vicar for the Clergy; 2010–2013: Lecturer in Moral Theology at the "San Metodio" Higher Institute of Religious Sciences in Syracuse; 2010–present: Parish Priest of "San Pietro Apostolo" and Vicar Forane of the Modica Vicariate; 2010–present: Lecturer at the "San Paolo" Theological Institute in Catania; 2014–present: Episcopal Vicar for Pastoral Care.
