Bishop of Parral
Bishop Mauricio Urrea Carrillo was born on 6 July 1969 in Nogales. He carried out his studies in philosophy and theology in the seminary of Hermosillo and was ordained a priest on 5 February 2004 in Nogales, in the then metropolitan archdiocese of Hermosillo. He was subsequently incardinated in the new diocese of Nogales on 19 March 2015. He received a doctorate in philosophy from the Universidad Pontificia de Mexíco. He has held the following offices: professor and prefect of the seminary of Hermosillo, director of the journal Philochristus, edited by the seminary of Hermosillo, and parish vicar. Until the present he has served as chancellor of the diocesan Curia, professor in the seminary and parish priest of La Purísima Concepción de María in Nogales.
