Bishop of Pécs
László Felföldi was born on February 4, 1961, in Geszteréd. After attending primary school in Geszteréd, he studied at the Piarist High School in Kecskemét (1975–1979) and pursued studies in electromechanics in Nyíregyháza (1979–1981). He completed his philosophical and theological studies at the Seminary of Eger (1981–1986). He was ordained a priest on June 21, 1986, and incardinated into the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Eger, where he served as parochial vicar in Újfehértó (1986–1988) and Eger (1988–1990). Following the establishment of the Diocese of Debrecen-Nyíregyháza in 1993, he was incardinated into the new diocese, where he held the following positions: parochial vicar in Nyíregyháza (1990–1996); private secretary to the bishop (1996–1998); vice-chancellor of the diocese (1998–2009); parish priest of Debrecen-Megtestesülés (2003–2017); vicar for diocesan pastoral care (2003–2015); and archpriest of the Debrecen deanery (2008–2017). Since 2015, he has served as Vicar General of the Diocese of Debrecen-Nyíregyháza, and since 2017, as Director of the Diocesan Institute for Pastoral Care, Coordinator of pastoral care for catechists and the acolyte group, and parish priest of the Co-Cathedral of Nyíregyháza-Magyarok Nagyasszonya. He has been a Chaplain of His Holiness since 2000 and a titular provost since 2011. In 2013, he received the *Pro Urbe* award from the civil authorities of Debrecen, and in 2016, he was named an honorary citizen of his native village.
