Bishop William Albert Wack

William A. Wack, C.S.C., was born on June 28, 1967, in South Bend, Indiana, within the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Notre Dame (1990), after which he entered the Congregation of Holy Cross. He pursued ecclesiastical studies at the University of Notre Dame (1993) and subsequently obtained a diploma in Executive Management from the same university (2002). He professed solemn vows in the Congregation of Holy Cross on August 28, 1993, and was ordained a priest for the same Congregation on April 9, 1994. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: Parochial Vicar at Sacred Heart Parish in Colorado Springs, Colorado (1994–1997); Associate Director of Vocations for his Congregation (1997–2002); Director of André House, an assistance center for the poor and homeless in Phoenix, Arizona (2002–2008); and board member of Holy Cross Associates (1998–2002), Holy Cross College at the University of Notre Dame (2002–2003), and Catholic Charities of Phoenix (2003–2008). He also served as Chairman of the Austin Diocesan Committee for Catholic Schools (having been a member from 2010 to 2016). He is currently the Pastor of Saint Ignatius Martyr Parish in Austin, Texas (since 2009), Vice-President of the Presbyteral Council of the Diocese of Austin (member since 2011), and Vicar Forane of the Austin Central Deanery. In addition to English, he speaks Spanish.
