Bishop of Phát Diệm
Peter Kieu Cong Tung was born on August 24, 1964, in Saigon, in the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City. He attended St. Joseph Major Seminary in Ho Chi Minh City and was ordained a priest for the same Archdiocese on June 30, 1999. He has held the following positions and pursued further studies: Parochial Vicar of Bui Phat (1999–2003); Assistant Lecturer at St. Joseph Major Seminary in Ho Chi Minh City (2003–2004); and studies in the United States, where he earned a Master of Arts and a Master of Sacred Music (specializing in Pastoral Ministry and Sacred Music) at Boston College, as well as a Master of Sacred Theology (specializing in Liturgy) at Boston University (2004–2009). From 2009 to 2010, he served as Parochial Vicar of the Cathedral, and has since served as Chancellor and Lecturer at St. Joseph Major Seminary.
