Diocese of Pinsk

Bishop Antoni Dziemianko, Bishop of the Diocese of Pinsk, was born on 1 January 1960 in the village of Zabroddzie in the Dzeraunaya parish of the Minsk-Mohilev Archdiocese. After completing secondary school, he did not receive permission from the state authorities to enter the Riga Theological Seminary. He underwent priestly formation under the direction of Doctor of Theology, Father Prelate Waclaw Piatkowski, then Vicar General of the Diocese of Pinsk. On 28 October 1980, he received the sacrament of priesthood. Until 26 April 1985, he did not have official permission from the state authorities for priestly ministry and worked as a sacristan and organist. In 1982-1984 he was called up for military service, which he completed in the Arctic region of Murmansk Oblast. From 1984 to 1998 he was pastor of the parish in Navahrudak. From 1992 he studied at the Institute of the Family of the Catholic Theological Academy in Warsaw, which he completed in 1996, receiving the title of Master of Theology. On 4 July 1998, by decree of the Holy Father John Paul II, he was appointed auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Grodno. The consecration took place on 29 September 1998 and was performed by Cardinal Kazimierz Swiatek. From 1998 to 2004 he was Vicar General of the Diocese of Grodno, pastor of the cathedral parish, and rector of the Theological Seminary in Grodno. He was elected General Secretary of the Conference of Catholic Bishops in Belarus and Chairman of the Councils for Liturgy, Family, and Charitable Activity. On 14 December 2004, Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop of the Minsk-Mohilev Archdiocese and released him from the duties of auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Grodno. On 14 June 2006, the Holy Father Benedict XVI appointed His Excellency Antoni Dziemianko Apostolic Administrator sede vacante and ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of the Minsk-Mohilev Archdiocese. On 21 September 2007, he was released from the duties of Apostolic Administrator sede vacante and ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of the Minsk-Mohilev Archdiocese. He was appointed auxiliary bishop of the Minsk-Mohilev Archdiocese. He is Vicar General of the Minsk-Mohilev Archdiocese. On 3 May 2012 in Pinsk, the decision of the Holy Father Benedict XVI was announced appointing him Bishop of the Diocese of Pinsk and releasing him from the duties of auxiliary bishop of the Minsk-Mohilev Archdiocese. On 16 June he took office as diocesan bishop of the Diocese of Pinsk.
