Bishop Peter Kochupurackal, Bishop of Palghat (Syro-Malabar), was born on May 29, 1964, in Marangoli, India, in the Diocese of Palghat (Syro-Malabar). He was ordained a priest for Palghat (Syro-Malabar) on December 29, 1990, in Vennakara. On January 15, 2020, he was appointed Titular Bishop of Lares and Auxiliary Bishop of Palghat (Syro-Malabar). He received episcopal ordination on June 18, 2020, at Palakkad, with Jacob Manathodath as principal consecrator and Joseph Kallarangatt and Pauly Kannookadan as co-consecrators. On January 15, 2022, he was appointed Bishop of Palghat (Syro-Malabar).
