Bishop of Punalur
Selvister Ponnumuthan was born on August 10, 1956, in Viraly-Utchakkada, Kerala—within the present-day Diocese of Neyyattinkara, which at the time was part of the Latin Diocese of Trivandrum. He was ordained a priest on December 19, 1981, and was incardinated first into the Diocese of Trivandrum and later into the new Diocese of Neyyattinkara. Following his ordination, he held various pastoral and formative roles. Since 2008, he has served as Rector of St. Joseph’s Pontifical Seminary in Carmelgiri.
