Nicolò Anselmi is Bishop of Rimini, Italy. The Holy Father accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Diocese of Rimini presented by Archbishop Francesco Lambiasi and appointed Bishop Nicolò Anselmi as bishop of the same diocese, transferring him from the titular see of Utica and from the office of auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Genoa. Nicolò Anselmi was born on 9 May 1961 in Genoa, in the city and archdiocese of the same name. After obtaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Genoa, he entered the Major Archiepiscopal Seminary of Genoa and then obtained a baccalaureate in Theology from the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy, Genoa section. He was ordained a priest on 9 May 1992 in Genova Quinto. He held the following positions: parochial vicar of Santi Pietro e Bernardo alla Foce in Genoa (1992-1996); head of the Youth Pastoral Service of the Archdiocese of Genoa (1993-2007); diocesan assistant for the Youth Sector of Catholic Action (1994-2001); teacher of religion (1994-2007); regional head of youth ministry of the Ligurian Episcopal Conference (1997-2007); parish administrator of San Giovanni Bosco della Rimessa (2001-2005); deputy director of the Diocesan Vocations Center (2005-2007); lecturer at the Major Seminary of Genoa (2006-2007); head of the National Youth Ministry Service (2007-2012). He was also regional assistant of AGESCI Liguria and a member of the diocesan Presbyteral Council; episcopal vicar for university, youth, and sports ministry; director of the Office for University Ministry; provost parish priest of the parish-basilica of Santa Maria delle Vigne; effective canon of the Distinguished Collegiate and Basilica of Santa Maria delle Vigne; member of the Presbyteral Council (2012-2017) and member of the College of Consultors (2012-2017). On 10 January 2015 he was appointed titular bishop of Utica and auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Genoa, receiving episcopal consecration on the following 8 February. Within the Italian Episcopal Conference he is secretary of the Episcopal Commission for the Family, Youth, and Life.
