Bishop Michel Moura

Michel Moura was born on September 28, 1962, in Vacoas-Phoenix, Mauritius. He was ordained a priest on August 6, 2006, for the Diocese of Port-Louis. He has held the following positions: Parochial Vicar (2006–2009) and subsequently Parish Priest (2009–2011) of Saint Sauveur, Bambous; Diocesan Chaplain for the Young Christian Workers (J.O.C.) movement (2008–2011); Vicar (2011–2012) and subsequently Administrator (2012–2016) of Saint Louis Cathedral, Port-Louis; Parish Priest of Saint Cœur de Marie, Port-Mathurin, Rodrigues (2016–2017); Parish Priest of Saint Esprit, Bel Air; and Vicar General and Secretary of the Presbyteral Council (since 2018). Since 2020, he has served as Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies for the territories of the Episcopal Conference of the Indian Ocean (CEDOI) and, since 2023, as Episcopal Vicar for Family Pastoral Care for the Diocese of Port-Louis. He is also a member of the Presbyteral Council and Chaplain of the Équipes Notre-Dame.
