Bishop of Saskatoon
Mark Hagemoen was born in Vancouver on September 4, 1961. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic School for his primary education and Vancouver College--run by the Irish Christian Brothers--for his secondary education. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia and, in 1990, a Master of Divinity degree after completing his priestly formation at St. Peter's Seminary in London, Ontario. He was ordained a priest on May 12, 1990, and was named a Prelate of Honour in 2006. He undertook brief periods of study in the United States: at Seattle University, where he earned a diploma in Youth Ministry in 1996, and at the University of Chicago, where he obtained a diploma in Advanced Study in Ministry in 1997. Later, he enrolled at Trinity Western University in Vancouver, continuing his studies while serving as a parish priest and Vicar General. In 2007, he earned a Doctor of Ministry degree. Following his ordination, he held the following positions: 1990-1992: Parochial Vicar at St. Stephen's, Vancouver; 1992-1994: Parochial Vicar at St. Mary's, Chilliwack; 1994-1999: Director of Youth Ministry for the Archdiocese; 1999-2004: Pastor of St. Nicholas, Langley; 2004-2009: Vicar General of the Archdiocese; 2007-2011: Episcopal Vicar for Diocesan Pastoral Services; 2007-2011: Pastor of St. John the Apostle, Vancouver; since 2011: President of the Catholic colleges Corpus Christi and St. Mark's, Vancouver. Since 2004, he has also served as a board member for the Center for Ministry Development and the College of Consultors, as well as on the board of Little Flower Academy High School for Girls (a Catholic high school) in Vancouver.
