Bishop Juan Carlos Ares

Juan Carlos Ares is Bishop of San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina. Juan Carlos Ares was born on 23 December 1963 in Buenos Aires and was ordained a priest for the same archdiocese on 25 November 1989. He served as parochial vicar and parish priest of San Rafael, chaplain of the Scouts for the Devoto episcopal vicariate, member of the Presbyteral Council and the College of Consultors, vice director of the Department of Schools of the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires, member of the Catholic Education Council, and parish priest of San Ramón Nonato and Nuestra Señora de Balvanera. On 17 November 2014 he was appointed titular bishop of Cercina and auxiliary bishop of Buenos Aires, receiving episcopal ordination on the following 26 December. The Argentine Episcopal Conference source identifies him as Bishop of San Carlos de Bariloche, in the Diocese of San Carlos de Bariloche, and president of the Episcopal Commission for Prison Pastoral Care. Its date labels are: date of birth, 23/12/1963; date of ordination, 25/11/1989; date of episcopal consecration, 26/12/2014. At the time of the Holy See source biography, within the Episcopal Conference he was president of prison pastoral care, and in the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires he was episcopal vicar of the Devoto vicariate.
