Archbishop of Semarang
Archbishop Robertus Rubiyatmoko, Archbishop of Semarang, was born on October 10, 1963, in Sleman, in the Archdiocese of Semarang. He entered the St. Peter Canisius minor seminary at Mertoyudan and carried out his philosophical and theological studies at the Pontifical Faculty in Yogyakarta. He was ordained a priest for Semarang on August 12, 1992. He obtained a degree in canon law from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, where he resided at the Pontifical Dutch College (1993-1997). He has held the following offices: parochial vicar of St. Mary of the Assumption parish at Pakem (1992-1993); lecturer in canon law at the Pontifical Wedabhakti Faculty of Theology in Yogyakarta; formator at the St. Paul Major Seminary in Yogyakarta (2004-2011); and judicial vicar of the Archdiocese of Semarang from 2011. On March 18, 2017, he was appointed Archbishop of Semarang. He received episcopal ordination on May 19, 2017, with Ignatius Suharyo Hardjoatmodjo as principal consecrator and Antonius Franciskus Subianto Bunyamin and Henricus Pidyarto Gunawan as co-consecrators.
