Archbishop Sergio Alfredo Fenoy

Sergio Alfredo Fenoy was born in Rosario, in the province of Santa Fe, on May 19, 1959. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Rosario on December 2, 1983, after completing his studies in philosophy and theology at the Archdiocesan Seminary. In 1991, he obtained a Licentiate in Canon Law from the Pontifical Gregorian University. Subsequently, he held the following positions: Prefect of the Seminary (1984–1998); Vicar of the "San Ramón Nonato" parish in Rosario and Archdiocesan Assistant for Catholic Action (1992–1995); Pastor of the "María Madre de la Iglesia" parish in Rosario (for six months in 1995); and Spiritual Director of the Seminary (1992–1995). In 1995, he was appointed Rector of the Archdiocesan Seminary of Rosario. He also served as a professor of theology and canon law at the same seminary, Assistant for Catholic Action Youth, Judge of the Interdiocesan Ecclesiastical Tribunal of Santa Fe, and a member of the Council for the Causes of Saints of the Argentine Episcopal Conference. He was appointed Titular Bishop of Satafis and Auxiliary Bishop of Rosario on April 3, 1999, and received episcopal ordination on May 21 of that year. In 2003, he added the role of Secretary General of the Episcopal Conference to his duties as Auxiliary Bishop of Rosario.
